The time for the election campaign for Azad Kashmir general elections has come to an end. The distribution of polling bags will start today. Forty thousand policemen will be on election duty for polling. In addition, 6,000 to 7,000 Pakistan Army personnel have been deployed to ensure law and order.
Twelve major contests are expected in 33 constituencies. Strong competition is likely between former prime ministers, leaders of political parties, and candidates for the PM’s job. In the general elections to be held on July 25, 3,220,793 voters will exercise their right to vote, while 45,253 Kashmiri people living in Pakistan will also be able to exercise their right to vote.
